選've no hands in Baruwa's detention'

The sole administrator of the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NUTRW), Comrade Stephen Falusi has absolved himself of any involvement in the continued detention of Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa of the Ogun State council of the union.

The sole administrator of the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NUTRW), Comrade Stephen Falusi has absolved himself of any involvement in the continued detention of Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa of the Ogun State council of the union.

Comrade Falusi stated this while speaking at the 41-day fidau prayer for Alhaji Saka Saula, the slain leader of the Lagos council.

'I am not the police. Many people have been detained in connection with the killing and some of have been released while some are still being detained. It is callous and wicked for anybody to link me with the detention of Baruwa. It is the police that are detaining him and they will release him when they are through with him. I have no hand in his detention," he said.

Alhaji Baruwa is being held at the Lagos State criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti as part of investigations into the brutal murder of Alhaji Saula by gunmen.
Exonerating himself from allegation making the rounds that he was the mastermind of Baruwa's continued detention by the police, Falusi explained that he has no hand in it, stating that other members of the union were equally invited for interrogation by the police.

Meanwhile, Comrade Falusi has appealed to security agencies to do everything within their power to ensure that they get the killers of Alhaji Saula and bring them to book so as to serve as deterrent to others in future. He commended the efforts by the police so far and urged them not to relent until justice is done.
